Chapter Ten

Trevor woke up to the sun shining brightly down on his face. He cracked open an eye then quickly shut it. He rolled over and reached for Jaron but all he grabbed was empty space.

“What the hell?” Trevor opened his eyes and sat up.

He was gone. The room was quiet and the door to the bathroom was open. There was no sign of Jaron at all. Trevor turned to look at the nightstand, foolishly thinking that maybe Jaron had left a note but nothing was there.

The wolf inside Trevor started to snarl and Trevor himself was sucking in large intakes of air and puffing them out. His temper flared to life and he felt the need to find Jaron. The man wasn’t allowed to leave without telling Trevor first. Once he found the man he was going to…

“Holy hell.” Trevor ran a hand over his forehead, pushing his hair out of his eyes. “I sound like some controlling asshole boyfriend.”

And he did. Trevor didn’t know what was wrong with him. He’d never been the jealous or overly aggressive type, but something had changed. Something inside him wanted Trevor to gain absolute control over everything in his life. To make it known that he was not to be messed with and that he was top dog in the food chain.

This feeling was strange and Trevor had to assume it was his wolf. It suddenly dawned on Trevor that his wolf was a controlling asshole.

Trevor’s issues with his wolf would have to wait. Right now he needed to find Jaron and see if the man was all right. Trevor hadn’t been all that gentle the night before. He had to make sure Jaron wasn’t hurt or afraid of him.

Trevor shifted to the edge of the bed, the blankets getting pulled down as he moved and that’s when he saw it. A dark rust color was stained on the bright white sheet. Trevor leaned down to smell the spot then flicked his tongue out to taste it. His eyes fell shut and he moaned. Trevor’s cock twitched at the sweet flavor of Jaron’s blood.

“Blood.” Trevor’s eyes shot open and he stood up. “I not only broke into his home, fucked him, I also bit him. Damn it.” Trevor grabbed the sheet off the bed and wrapped it around his waist and headed for the front door.

When he stepped out on to the porch, he glanced around. He didn’t see anyone but that didn’t mean anything. He was on the property of a family of shifters. Eyes could be everywhere. Trevor closed his eyes and tried to will his wolf to take over his body but the damn thing lay dormant inside him. If Trevor didn’t know better, he’d say that half of himself was ignoring him.

“Fine. Be that way.” Trevor tied a knot in the sheet wrapped around his waist then started walking. “If you don’t want to cooperate that’s cool. Let’s see how you like it when I become a vegetarian.” Trevor must look like a fool walking around in nothing but a sheet and talking to himself.
